It’s Always Better To Keep Moving Than To Keep Standing Still

Unfortunately for most people, they don’t realize that when they begin to physically and mentally slow down — often liberally — they begin to start a long, slow decline. It’s always better to keep moving than to keep standing still, by far. For motivation, consider that those who keep moving — both in their minds and in their bodies — tend to live longer and be more productive than those who don’t.

This means that the deterioration, while actually not purely like ‘rusting’, can indeed be true deterioration and brought about by oxidative damage that increases as people become more sedentary. Those who do the things necessary to engage their bodies and their minds often live more enjoyable lives and our truly motivating to those who are around them. It’s not too difficult to conceive, actually.

Another effective way to engage at least the mind is to try to think up ways — given that this is the Internet age — to make money online that are both legitimate and legal. The single most effective way for most average people is to start a blog, grow and develop it and then began attracting visitors to it. At the least, it’s been proven that such activity can keep even the most elderly in fine mental fitness.

Much of what’s being discussed is more about getting people to understand that staying nimble and on their feet, both figuratively and literally, will do more for them than any amount of Botox or some other plastic surgery alternative could do. Sure, people need to rest, but moving as if somebody’s behind you trying to catch you can be a good way to go through life, not sitting on the porch ending up like a sun-dried raisin.

Another effective way to occupy and engage the mind along with the body, and certain ways, is head over to the music store and pick out an instrument and learn to play it. Something like an Alvarez acoustic guitar can work well, and it’s a way to develop hand-eye coordination, to boot. This very useful instrument will deliver many hours of enjoyment, if it’s given the chance to do so.

One way of really staying busy is to think about cleaning the house out and getting rid of the accumulated years of clutter. At one point, that old black helmet sitting under the kitchen table went well with a motorcycle that was sold decades ago, but now it’s just gathering dust. Put it away or clean it up and mount it in a trophy case, maybe.

It’s very important for people to understand that they don’t have to decline, at least mentally. It’s a fact that physical skills declined to the point where one will never be a superstar pro athlete any longer, but that doesn’t mean that anyone — even those in their 90s — should accept the inevitable rocking chair. In fact, refuse that rocking chair and stay busy to stave off decline.
