The safety and well-being infants and children have been at the forefront of manufacturer and developer’s minds for the last few years. Many changes have been made to products used on a daily basis for infants and toddlers. Parents today are able to find the best items available for their children at an affordable price which have safety features that have never been used.
Many of the items may have levels of protection for children that exceeds any safety standards past or present. The items also are made to ensure the comfort and well-being of the infant or toddler. Manufacturers and designers have recognized the need to provide all infants with an opportunity to feel safe and secure in their environment.
Many of the designs today are manufactured as part of a component that expands and grows with the baby through toddlerhood. Why all cradles and cribs were once separate units, today it is possible to get a convertible crab that we all activate cradle until the infant is old enough to move into the crib module. In addition, some items that created fear in an infant have been modified to make the infant feel more secure. Daily events that created fear and were once considered a part of becoming environmentally aware, are no longer part of the infants experience.
The most visible and unique change made in recent years has been the development of the spa baby bath. This wonderful bath is designed in the shape of a flowerpot. The infant sits in the flowerpot upright, with water up to their shoulders. There is no fear at bathtime because the baby is not forced to lie, on its back in water, it exposed. The response to this new bath system has been very positive as more parents have found their infants enjoy bathtime.
The introduction of dry skin care lotion that does not contain harsh or toxic chemicals has been another major advancement in technology. More baby lotions today utilize natural ingredients that are not harmful to the baby or skin and moisturize the skin. Many adults are using baby lotions as part of their daily regimen because they are able to moisturize their skin without worrying about allergenic reaction or chemicals in the lotion.
As part of an ongoing effort to assure that infants and toddlers are kept safe in vehicles, designers have created the Graco stroller. This stroller is designed to grow with an infant. The unique feature of this stroller is that the seat converts to a rear facing car seat without removing the infant from the seat. As the infant grows to a toddler the car seat can again convert to a front facing unit.
As a toddler, the seat faces for words in the car. When traveling, it is not necessary to wake the infant or toddler when moving them from the car to the stroller. This makes traveling extremely enjoyable and comfortable for the infant or toddler.
